The Challenge
What is the challenge?
We are asking you to take on an activity using the numbers 2, 4 and 7. You can walk, run, bake, craft, or anything else that you can think of.
Can you provide some examples?
- Walk, Cycle or Run 24.7 miles
- Host a 24-hour gaming tournament with 7 of your friends.
- Dance for 7 minutes a day for 24 days
- Bake 247 cupcakes
When can I take part?
You can take part at a time that is suitable for you.
Is there a minimum age?
Anyone can take part in the challenge. If you are under 16, you will need a parent or guardian to sign up for you.
Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee to take part.
Why is this a virtual challenge?
Choosing your own challenge gives you the freedom to take on an activity that is right for you. Taking part in a virtual challenge means you are not restricted by a time or location for your challenge.
Can I take part as a team?
Yes, you can take part as a team! Firstly, you need to think of your team challenge (eg collectively cycle 247 miles). Then you need to each create a JustGiving page, once you have done this you can link your page with your teammates and fundraise together.
What happens after I sign-up?
We will be in touch to make sure you have everything you need.
What is Strava?
Strava is a free training app which tracks and records your distance. JustGiving is partnered with Strava, which means if you are taking on a fitness challenge you can link your fundraising page to your Strava account, and your page will automatically update every time you complete an activity.
Fundraising
How much do I have to fundraise?
Right now, your support is more important than ever, so we only ask that you raise as much as you are able. If you raise £247, this could pay for around 2 hours of care provided by our team of 25 nurses and health care support workers to deliver quality specialist care for every child.
How do I collect sponsorship?
Once you register, a fundraising page will be created for you and you can share your fundraising page link with family and friends so they can donate. The money then gets sent straight to Haven House.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid adds 25p to every £1 donated, at no extra cost to the donor. It is a Government scheme that enables charities to claim this ‘extra money’ from tax that people have already paid.
To allow us to claim Gift Aid, the donor must be a UK taxpayer and have paid sufficient Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount we will reclaim in the tax year.
How can I ensure I reach my fundraising target?
We have plenty of resources to help you reach your target. Download our 24/7 pack for further ideas.
How do I pay in money?
Asking people to donate directly to your fundraising page is the easiest way to pay in your sponsorship, as the money comes directly to us. For alternative ways to pay in sponsorship download our 24/7 pack.
